BLESS THE 80s

Sometimes it happens, that one gets pleasantly surprised. Today, on the tube, a man came on and to my immediate annoyance the music in his headphones were super loud. But after a few seconds of irritated listening I couldn't help but feel a smile slowly take over my face and my foot start tapping the floor. This blessed soul was listening to Diggi-Loo Diggi-Ley by the swedish band Herreys. Now, every swedish reader would hopefully know what I'm talking about. You see, this song was actually the winner of the 1984 Eurovision Song Contest and basically became the national anthem.
Also I must say that I think the style is pretty relevant today. I, at least, love gold shoes.

But this nostalgic tube journey did not end there. The next song playing was Dover-Calais with another brilliant swedish 80s band called Style. And oh my did they have style! This was another contribution to the Eurovision Song Contest but this time in 1989. And it very much captured the hearts of Sweden, being played on the radio until we all felt a bit ill. My 7 year old heart went right out to the guy on the right, Christer Sandelin. The hair did it all.

KARL LAGERFELD

I recently read an interview with with Karl Lagerfeld, and I must say he has some good things to say.
If you want to read a great article, get Vice Magazine volume 7 number 3.

Be politically correct, but please don't bother other people with conversation about being politically correct, because that's the end of everything. You want to create boredom? Be politically correct in your conversation. -Karl Lagerfeld
